The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow Game Review

Thomasina Bateman, an antiquarian is at present writing a novel about barrows found in England. The book will record the treasures that she discovers inside. When an intriguing letter summons her to the little village of Bewlay, tucked away in the remote countryside, she sets off by train, with her companion to spend the day in Bewlay.
On her arrival her mysterious companion who was supposed to summon her cannot be found. Her assistant never arrives. An uncompromising landowner denies access to the barrow and locals are suspicious of this woman who is walking on her own as well (gasp!) wears trousers.
